laser dentistry refers to light energy that is a thin beam of extremely focused light, exposed to a particular tissue so that it can be molded or eliminated from the mouth. At Magadh Oro Dental laser dentistry is being used for conducting simple cosmetic dental treatments to rather complex dental surgeries.
With minor procedures, laser dentistry does not require any anesthesia. The treatment is done while the patients are comfortable and relaxed.
Laser dentistry is a popular method of dental care that people are finding to be less painful or more effective than traditional methods. Thanks to lasers, dentists now carry out various procedures with a higher level of precision.
The use of a dental laser may make you feel more comfortable and less anxious during your treatments. Being aware of what laser dentistry is will help you better understand why dentists at Magadh Oro Dental use it to treat patients. This type of dentistry uses a dental laser that produces narrow and efficient light beams to remove or alter the hard and soft tissues of the mouth. These types of procedures are typically less invasive than using a blade, which may be more comfortable for the patient. Often, there is less pain and bleeding when using lasers. Some patients experience a faster recovery time when compared to other methods. Since there is less pain involved during these procedures, we at Magadh Oro Dental may not even have to use anesthesia.
Soft tissue lasers
The wavelength of soft tissue lasers can be absorbed by water and hemoglobin easily. Evident by the name, they are used to cut into soft tissues and also seal the blood vessels that are cut through. They are mostly used for modifying the lengthening of crowns, reshaping gums for cosmetic purposes, and treating limited tongue movement.
Soft tissue laser procedures done at Magadh Oro Dental
1. Laser Gingivectomy (Reshaping or removing gum tissue)
This procedure is used for periodontal or aesthetic reasons or in order to gain access to decay. Soft tissue reshaping may be done to gain proper shape and form for teeth and restorations. Because of genetics or poor hygiene, some people have poorly shaped gums. This can cause sensitivity or simply be a cosmetic issue. We use laser dentistry during gum reshaping. These tissues can be sensitive and prone to bleeding when traditional methods are used. There is less bleeding with laser dentistry, and the gums will not be as inflamed during recovery.
2. Gummy Smile
This procedure is used to reshape gum tissue and improve the appearance of a "gummy” smile (smile showing too much of the gum and not enough of the teeth.
3. Crown Lengthening
This procedure is used to reshape gum tissue to help expose healthier tooth structure, providing a stronger foundation for the placement of restorations.
4. Gingivoplasty (Gently removing swollen tissues)
This procedure is used to remove excess tissue caused by systemic disease, medication or poor oral hygiene.
5. Removing Soft Tissue Growths (Fibroma removal)
This procedure is used to remove excess tissue or growths that may be an aesthetic or functional issue.
6. Soft Tissue Folds (Epulis)
This procedure is used for the painless and suture-free removal of soft tissue folds often caused by ill-fitting dentures.
Recurrent Apthous Healing:
Laser therapy modulates inflammatory response and promotes pain reduction and cellular bio stimulation.
7. Tongue frenulum attachment
Some people have tongues that are shaped abnormally which can cause difficulty with eating and speaking. An oral surgeon can use a laser to remove parts of the tissue beneath the tongue so that the tongue glides more evenly within the mouth.
Operculectomy:
Operculectomy using laser in many aspects is superior to the other treatment plan. Its excellent haemostatic abilities and minimal damage to healthy tissue make laser treatment a perfect treatment option.
Having all these features combined in one machine is a triple wavelength soft tissue laser. It is one of the most advanced laser we are using at Magadh Oro Dental for dental treatment today. SOGA triple wavelength soft tissue laser.enables dentist to perform wide variety of advantageous procedures like Soft tissue surgeries, whitening, pain relief procedures.
There is minimal bleeding, no or minimal post operative pain and reduced need for astringents, haemostatic agents or local anaesthesia.
